The part was tested by measuring the absorbance and fluorescence of transformed bacteria on a Tecan plate reader after incubating the bacteria with varying concentrations of freshly prepared GSSH (a RSS). Fluorescence was measured at 450 nm for excitation and 495 nm emission. No significant difference in fluorescence was observed between that bacteria that had been incubated with GSSH and the control. Due to the discovery of potential flaws in the design of the part, the experiments were promtly ended.
